Verna Marie Haynes, 91, passed away on March 11, 2020 in Casa Grande, Arizona.  She was born in Monterey, California on April 28, 1928 to Warren and Thelma Sullens.  She moved to Arizona, in 1953, with her husband where they farmed cotton for the next 5 decades.  Verna worked in the elementary school system in Toltec, Arizona and Casa Grande, Arizona from 1969-1985 as a teacher’s aide and in special education.  Verna was a proud member of Trinity Baptist Church of Case Grande for over 50 years and an integral part of the Children’s Ministry there for much of that time.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, of 59 years, Jim Haynes, daughter, Kathleen Cousley and Grandson, Andrew Haynes.  She is survived by her children, Elayne (Kenith Barnett), Mark (Susan) Haynes, James (Nancy)Haynes, Connie Hallof and Robin (Mark)Cummins, as well as, 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters, Etta Mae Kibby and Thelma Stepka and brother, Wayne Sullens, along with countless nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.
