Vernon Doyle Bowles, 91, of Mesa, AZ, died peacefully March 29, 2013 at the Park Regency retirement community. Doyle was born in Jewell County, Kansas, in 1921. He was in the Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II on the USS Boston. Doyle ran the family farm in Kansas after the war. In 1961, he moved with his family to Mesa, AZ. On June 9, 2013, Doyle and his wife, Marjorie celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. Doyle worked for the Mesa Public schools until his retirement. Doyle was proceeded in death by Marjorie, his wife, by six days. He leaves behind, a daughter Bonnie Busby of Waynesboro, Mississippi; two sons Jack Bowles of Phoenix, Arizona and Philip Bowles of Sewickley, Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 39 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Walter Sanders of Gulfport, Mississippi.
