On June 4th, in the morning hours, Vickie Marie Edwardson (Hill) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 73.

Vickie was born in Colville, WA, on June 12, 1950, to Richard Hill and Mariam Hill (Brown) and raised on a dairy farm in Blue Creek, WA, until the age of 12, when her father passed, and her mother moved the family to Buckeye, AZ. The family then moved to Prescott, AZ, where she graduated High School in 1968. She was a wife, friend, mother, and grandmother; of all the roles she undertook, being a grandmother was her favorite and best. She spent most of her career as a Medical Records Technician for Lewis R Pyle Memorial Hospital in Payson, Arizona, and Arizona Children’s Foundation in Tucson, AZ. In 2021, she retired to Mesa, Arizona, where she met new friends every afternoon at the pool or for drinks.

Vickie was loved by many, brought joy to all around her, and loved her Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Cardinals. Her hobbies included thrift stores, crocheting and knitting, and, most recently, making blankets for friends, family, and craft fairs. She had many friends, but in recent months the one “friend” that brought her the most joy was her beloved Stan Vetos.

She is survived by her three sons, Shawn Western, Justin (Jaleh) Edwardson, and Jason (Debbie) Edwardson, brother Dale Hill, and sister Bonnie Burson; four grandchildren, Cristian (Lauren) Epps, Kylee (Justin) Johnson, Taylor Edwardson, and Jace Western, six great-grandchildren Ella, Aly Jo, Miley, Brody, Hunter, and Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother Mariam Estell Brown, father Richard George Hill, brother Earl Hill, and her husband of 19 years, Gerald Lloyd Edwardson.

Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ, on June 12, 2024, at 11 am—graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Main in Mesa.

    To my dear friend Vicki,
How I am going to miss you is hard to put into words. Although it’s only been 9 years since we met, I feel as if I have known you my entire lifetime. I never told you this, but from the first day we met you reminded me of a very close, lifelong, friend of mine, who passed away a few years prior to us meeting.
It all started when I came to work at AzCA as your HR contact for employee issues. And boy did you have a few of those! You’d flail your arms around asking what you are going to do with this employee and me talking you off the ledge each time. We had quite a few good laughs during our time working together and outside of work. Good Time Charlie’s comes to mind with the Dancing Bettys!
Your passion and energy were contagious. Your strength, compassion and determination were something to be admired. I will miss our friendship immensely. Rest in peace my dear friend.

    To the family,
My heartfelt condolences. “When someone you love becomes a memory, that becomes a treasure.” May you find peace and joy in her memory.
