Virginia Roberta Abbott

March 30, 1930 – January 11, 2024


Virginia Roberta Abbott went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 11, 2024, at 93 years of age. She is survived by her son David and Mark, along with 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Born Virginia Martz,on March 30, 1930, in Phoenix, Arizona, where she also grew up, and attended school. In 1947, she met and married her husband Thomas Abbott, of 72 years, in Florence, Arizona.

Tom and Virginia had four children; Margaret, David, Paul, and Mark. They had a life full of adventures in Arizona, California, and Alaska; where they raised their family and were involved in various church activities.

Throughout her lifetime, Virginia worked in various trades, primarily as a receptionist for doctor’s offices, churches, and eventually for Tom’s real estate office in Anchorage Alaska. Later in her life she worked at the printing office at the local high school in Clovis California. After they moved to Arizona, she did in-home daycare with her daughter-in-law, so she could spend more time with her grandchildren.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Virginia loved music, floral design and spending time with her husband and children. Throughout Virginia’s life she held a strong faith in God and was a devoted wife to her husband and a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
