William “Bill” L. Cooper

Passed Away on March 18, 2026

William “Bill” L. Cooper, born July 13, 1943 to William L. Cooper Sr. and Louise (Steapp) Cooper, passed away on March 18, 2026.

Bill was a man of many titles throughout his life–son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.  Above all, he was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide for and support his children,  no matter the distance between them.

He had a passion for life that showed in everything he did.  Bill loved fast cars, dirt bike racing, street bikes, hustled as a pool player, flew and instructed for Ultra Lights, playing bridge, and dominos (“bones”), which he especially enjoyed playing and teaching to his grandchildren.  He found joy in adventure, but one of his greatest passions was teaching his children about life–lessons the will carry with them forever.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William L. Cooper Sr. (July 6, 1962); his mother, Louise Cooper (May 25, 2005); his beloved wife Carol Cooper (April 1, 2017); his oldest son, William J. Cooper (July 6, 2023); and his sister, Marylou (May 14, 2025).

He is survived by his siblings: brother Joe, and sisters Gerry and Paula.  He was also survived by his sister Pat, who sadly passed just eight days later on March 26,2026.

Bill leaves behind his loving children: Melissa (Lewie) Hart, Leslie (Robert) Thompson, and Chase (Brandy) Cooper.   He is also survived by several grandchildren,  many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his memory.

During his first marriage to Loretta, Bill welcomed three children.  Later, in his marriage to Carol, they welcomed their youngest son, Chase, completing their family.

Bill spent his life working hard in many roles, including as a pool cleaner, window washer, Pest Control, construction worker, before retiring as an Industrial/Commercial painter.  His strong work ethic and dedication to his family were evident in everything he did.

Though he traveled to many states throughout his life, Bill spent his later years in Mesa, Arizona where he made his home.

At this time, there will be no services per his request. His ashes will be dispersed at a later date in accordance with his wishes.
