William Edward Rhoades

March 22, 1940 – June 3, 2021


William “Dusty” Edward Rhoades, Jr. age 81 passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2021 in Morristown, AZ. Born in York County, Peach Bottom Township, PA on March 22, 1940. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine Morris Rhoades. Three children Melody Green, Connie Bowler and John Rhoades, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also, three step children Gwendolyn Bartle, Christy Johnson and Anthony Homa and nine step grandchildren. He was previously married to Rosalind Jenkins (deceased) for thirty-three years. He has a sister Helen Morris and brother Warren Rhoades residing in Fawn Grove, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents William Rhoades, Sr. and Sarah Thompson Rhoades, brothers Steven and James Rhoades.

Dusty graduated from Kennard-dale High School in Fawn Grove, PA in 1959. He served his country in the Army three years as a Military Police Officer stationed at Fort Eustis, VA. He was a police officer with the Newport News Virginia Police Department six years, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department one year and Security Officer at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VA for ten years.

Dusty retired in 2001 but kept busy moving to new places: South Dakota, Florida. Arizona and Idaho. He enjoyed selling at flee markets specializing in hand tooled leather belts and collecting coins. He loved fishing, deer hunting, motorcycle riding and traveling in the RV with his wife Catherine and dog Rascal. He will be truly missed by his son John at hunting season. We miss him but will cherish the memories. No longer in our sight but forever in our hearts.
