William H. “Bill” Preston

William H. Preston, 88, passed away peacefully at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, AZ., on May 13, 2014. He was born to Roy and Elva “Katie” Preston on August 27, 1925 in Hannibal, MO. Bill attended schools in Belgrade, MT. During his elementary years, he met the love and soul-mate of his life Rebecca “Becky” Gibson. On July 5, 1945 they were married in Helena MT. They would have celebrated 69 years of marriage this coming July 5, 2014. Bill was a water well contractor. He first started working with his Dad and continued to work with his son and grandson. He was a very hardworking man who believed in doing the very best work for his many customers throughout the years. He drilled water wells throughout the states of Montana, Idaho, and Arizona. He was a fair and honest man who took great pride in his work. His greatest joy was his family – especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife Becky, his son “Skip” (Sandy), his daughter Karen Kirk (Rob), grandchildren Shanna Caldwell (Mike), Karrie Preston, Trey Preston (Sonia), Tracy Burk (Christopher) and Robb Nansel, and great-grandchildren Sophia, Alexa, Phoebe, Treden, Tallen, Katie, Lyla, Jonathan, Owen, and Ethan, one brother, Mack Preston, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Betty. Cremation has taken place- no services are planned at his request. We are so honored to have had our husband, father, and grandfather in our lives. We can’t begin to thank you for all that you bestowed upon all of us. We love you and you’ll always be with us.
