Dr. William J. Snoddon, age 97, of Tempe Arizona, passed away quietly in his sleep on August 9, 2020 after a brief illness. Dr. Snoddon is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Snoddon of Monroe Michigan, and Nancy Finston of Fairfax, California, as well as two grandsons, David and Alex Finston. His wife Charlotte Snoddon and son Brian Snoddon preceded him in death.

Dr. Snoddon was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan. At the beginning of World War II he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, and served with the Photo Intelligence Division in Europe.

After the war Dr. Snoddon studied at the University of Michigan and earned a PhD. in chemical engineering. He worked for several years as a senior research chemist at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing in St. Paul and then had a long career as the Director of Research at Yale Rubber Manufacturing Company, in Sandusky MI. He served his community as a member of the Lions club and served on the local school board.

He and his wife Charlotte retired to Leisure World in Mesa, Arizona where they regularly played golf for over 30 years. In recent years, they lived in Friendship Village, in Tempe, Arizona.

Burial services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 18th at the Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.

Memorial donations may be made to the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
